just because.
those words are pretty normal, really.
i mean, think about it.
whenever someone does something to you, near you, or with you,
and you ask them for their reasoning behind it,
chances are, the answer will be "just because"
that doesn't really explain much about their actions,
but then again, it's not supposed to, is it?
hence why people say it;
it saves them the trouble of having to explain why they did such a thing.
sometimes they don't exactly have a reason behind it of course,
but rather than take the option of lying, they just take the lazy way out.
just because.
like this one time; a friend and i were talking one day.
we hadn't actually said anything much.
the friend sent me an instant message that read, "yo."
i replied with, "hey."
pretty standard, right?
very basic.
however, not two minutes passed,
and my friend posts a definition of the word 'hey'
then i asked him, "why did you take the time to look that up?"
my friend replies with, "just because."
just because.
a man was late for work one morning.
he usually took the morning transit to get from his home to the block of his workplace.
but rather than undergo the heavy traffic,
he decided to take a stroll through the city,
cutting his way through the different streets and alleyways.
however, one wrong turn sent him down a dead-end alley.
shaking his head at this mistake,
he turned to go in the other direction.
unfortunately for him, someone was blocking his way out.
it was an armed gunman, dressed in the usual fashion.
hockey mask, t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers; the whole works.
the man in the suit asked the gunman to let him go.
the gunman replied with, "no. i'm going to kill you and rob you of everything you have."
the poor man, eyes widening in fear at this turn of events,
questions why the gunman would do such a thing.
just as he raised the gun and aimed for the man's head,
he replied, "just because."
and he pulled the trigger.
just because...
those two words can be used in many different situations.
some good. some neutral. some bad.
we usually meet the first criteria.
others come across the neutral too.
it's really unfortunate that many meet the fate of that horrible circumstance and get hurt.
but that's the way the world works, isn't it?
why, you ask?
just because.

if i say that i don't think i'm pretty, i'm looking for attention, and if i say yes, i'm a vain bitch. it's such a double standard in society; we tell girls that they should be confident and feel beautiful all the time, but then we tear down girls who are confident, out of jealousy and hate. i really don't get it.
